'Go now to your dwelling place,
To enter into the days of your togetherness'
Apache wedding prayer

We create marriage ceremonies and blessings that uplift and inspire both the couple and guests alike.

Do any of these thoughts strike a chord?

  • Wedding“I am getting married but I want to do more than the usual registry office thing; but I don’t feel a church wedding would be right either.”
  • “We want to get married, but we come from different faiths, it could be complicated.”
  • “We feel disconnected from our religion, but would like a sacred and romantic ceremony.”
  • “With so much to organise we don’t want the ceremony itself to get lost.”
  • “We want the ceremony exactly how we want it”
  • “We want to be able to say exactly what we want to each other, not repeat vows that everyone else has said.”
  • “We are out door people and want to have some kind of blessing in the open air”

Our Ceremonies

Your marriage ceremony is a precious moment. We can help create the perfect ceremony; a ceremony that is absolutely right for you both.

Every one of our ceremonies is created especially for each couple. We believe that your ceremony should be unique to you; able to reflect your own particular values, beliefs, intentions and preferences.

Rhythm of Life ceremonies are personalised, warm, creative and memorable.  We offer choice, flexibility and support every step of the way to help you create a unique and sacred start to the rest of your lives together. Your interfaith ceremony can be as long or short as you want, it can include whatever you want and it can take place wherever you want.

We respect and honour all beliefs and traditions; whether religious, non religious, spiritual or secular; and are open to creating religious and non religious ceremonies.

Experienced in world traditions, rituals and prayer we are specialists in blending faiths and traditions together.

Things to Consider

There are so many options for creating the wedding of your dreams, for example:

  • Will you involve any aspects of the religion or tradition you were born into?
  • Would you prefer a ceremony that makes no reference to God at all?
  • Will you write your own vows?
  • Do you want family and friends involved in doing things like readings or music?
  • Do you just want words or would you like ritual included such as candle lighting?

Rhythm of Life can help and advise you on these and many other aspects of your marriage.

The  Legal Practicalities

There are two ways to legally get married in England and Wales; a church wedding or a registry office. A marriage with a registrar is a short legal process which can lack any personalised content. There are restictions on where the ceremony can take place and there is little flexibility as regards what is said as no religious or spiritual contributions are allowed by law. This can make the ceremony somewhat perfunctory and lacking in substance and warmth.

In our experience most couples choose to carry out the legal process with the Registrar the day before their Rhythm of Life ceremony.

Should you choose to get married in Scotland, Interfaith Ministers can act as Registrar and Celebrant; carrying out both the legal and ceremonial aspects of marriage.

And Finally

We believe in doing all we can to help reduce the stress often associated with wedding planning.  To this end we offer wedding journey support and inspiration as an additional service.
