![]() “To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.”
Anon
The breakdown of a relationship is always sad and can be very traumatic; particularly if children are involved. The effects can stay with us for a very long time, in a variety of guises. All three of us have experienced the pain of separation and believe passionately in the value of acknowledging the end of a relationship, so that healing can take place and any unfinished business doesn’t carry forward into the future. It takes real courage and compassion to look the ending of a relationship straight in the eye and announce to yourself and others that it is time to move on. A separation ceremony can be a powerful way to acknowledge the end of a relationship and the beginning of the healing process. Such a ceremony can involve just the separating couple or just one of the couple. Equally it can involve children, family friends or none of these. What is important is what feels right for you. Change whether in a marriage, family structure, friendship or business partnership is often a vital turning point in our lives. At Rhythm of Life we believe a separation ceremony provides the opportunity for both acknowledgement and closure of a relationship; providing the vehicle for each individual to recognise and honour what they have learnt and gained from this now reconfigured relationship. Our ceremonies create a space to reflect, share and let go with love; enabling everyone to move forward with optimism and confidence.
