1) Who are Rhythm of Life?

People are diverse. We come in different shapes, colours and sizes. We are continually changing. We have different points of view. However within this diversity there is a simple commonality that binds us all together; the ebb and flow of life with its ups and downs. We call this the rhythm of life; and at the heart of our Ministry lies the desire to help people as they journey through life.

We are ordained Interfaith Ministers committed to help enrich people’s lives. To help people achieve their goals, turn their dreams into reality, live their lives more consciously from a place of comfort and truth and express more of who they really are. We are here to serve all people with love, ensuring wherever possible that their needs are met.

Our catalogue of ceremonies, support and other services has been created with this totally in mind. We can lead and create ceremonies and work in a wide range of roles to support individuals, families and communities throughout the UK.

With a breadth and ongoing experience of ministry, business, coaching, counselling, education, drama, training, presentation, group facilitation, marketing and advertising we can bring a knowledge and understanding of the everyday world to all aspects of our work. We are thoroughly down to earth, professional, approachable and we love what we do.

3) What is your relationship to other ministers or religious teachers?

We are not part of a new religion. Nor are we a replacement for traditional religions, ministers or teachers. Rather, we offer choice and an alternative approach. Complementing and building on existing beliefs.  We actively honour and acknowledge differences in theology, philosophy and practices.

However some people feel uncomfortable with conventional religion yet seek some form of spiritual connection and expression.

Since we are not part of a specific religion there is no church. We are self employed and work in a variety of ways. We blend our work at Rhythm of Life alongside our professions and everyday commitments. We can carry out our work wherever and for whomever.

4) What does ordained actually mean?

It means we have formally taken vows initially witnessed by our faculty and community of other ministers; and then subsequently witnessed by our friends and family in a public ceremony.

Each and everyone of us has our own personal vow which is a promise to live our lives for the greater good of all people.

Furthermore we are part of a professional graduate body with a shared philosophy and purpose; and commit to living and working by an agreed code of ethics.

5) What training did you have?

As interfaith ministers we spent 2 years learning and engaging with the major world faiths from which we gained a deep and thorough understanding of many spiritual practices and paths.

The course was both academic and experiential in content allowing us to develop into empathetic and knowledgeable ministers.  A large proportion of the course was spent creating and conducting ceremonies which are relevant to all aspects of daily life.

Through inner enquiry we strengthened our understanding and practice of meditation and spiritual connection and now have the skills necessary to spiritually coach and counsel clients, helping them to find the spiritual path that is right for them; leading people to a full knowledge and acceptance of themselves.

7) What are the benefits of an interfaith ceremony?

An interfaith ceremony can include anything you what at any venue of your choice, everything is possible!  Nothing is prescribed or essential.  Elements included are those that are right for you, reflecting your beliefs and those of the people around you that are important to you.

So, for example we can create a ceremony which includes elements of two different religious traditions to reflect a couple's different faith backgrounds.

Equally we can create a ceremony with no reference to a particular faith.

Central to any interfaith ceremony is choice, respect and flexibility.
